04/12/08 1118Hrs Veh Fire Crews were dispatched to a possible van on fire, I 88 Westbound East of Exit 3. NY State Police advised prior to FD units arriving that there was no fire problem at the location. E-2 was requested to respond non-emergency to the scene. Units were back in service @ 1129 Hrs.
04/30/08 16:15 Stove Fire Units responded to a reported stove fire on Ketchum Hill Rd. Upon arrival Capt. Benedict and his crew found the fire was extinguished. Chief 37B canceled units not on the scene, the residual smoke was cleared and the homeowner advised not to use the oven until checked by a service technician. Eng 4, Tanker 3 and Squad 1 responded.
Sunday 04/06/08 Approx 0900Hrs Units responded to a location on Richards Road for a smoke condition in the residence. Upon arrival Chief Kresge established command and crews determined the origin of the smoke condition was utility related. The home was ventilated and the smoke was cleared using the fan on Eng/Res 37-4. The owner contacted his utility company to make necessary repairs.
Working Mobile Home Fire 07/07/08 01:29 In the early morning hours of Monday July 7th, Firefighters responded to a reported mobile home fire on Route 369. Upon Arrival Chief 37 notified communcations of the "working fire with exposures". The only occupant was out of the building on arrival. Engine 2 was first due and dropped a supply into the mobile home park. Size up of the building revealed 75% heavily involved with fire and radiant heat damaging the mobile home behind it. Firefighters advanced two attack lines to the building and knocked down the heavy fire quickly. Crews remained on scene performing overhaul and salvage operations until after 7AM. The cause was determined to be electrical.
